This 3-week course will train a variety of tricks as well as some practical behaviors using reward-based training with an emphasis on shaping and capturing behaviors, rather than luring. It’s a fun and challenging way for you and your dog to learn. A foundation in basic training and Tricks One are recommended pre-requisites for this class. Rather than luring our dogs into various positions to teach behaviors (bow, spin, retrieve, and jump, just to name a few) you can use free shaping to capture and shape the behaviors you want to teach by developing keen observational skills, well-timed communication with your dog, and rewarding your dog along the way. Dogs that are experienced free shapers learn with remarkable speed and enthusiasm. This workshop will explore a variety of tricks as well as practical behaviors while teaching you and your dog free shaping techniques.
Held at Animal Haven (251 Centre Street) on Saturdays, June 12th thru June 26 12:30pm - 1:30pm. Three week course fee is $150
